Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy explains how BusGo (搭巴士) handles information related to you. We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for advertising tracking.

Data we use and why

• Location (optional): Used only after you grant permission, to find nearby stops, show walking distance, and refresh nearby routes and arrival times. It is not used to track your movements over time.
• On-device storage: Favourites and settings (enabled operators, search radius, language, theme) are stored locally on your device.
• Network requests: To fetch arrivals, routes, and stops, the app calls Hong Kong public-transport open APIs (for example KMB, Citybus, NLB, green minibus, and related government open data). Requests typically include route or stop identifiers and, for nearby features, location used to compute distance.
• Green minibus fare table: The app may download a fare file derived from Transport Department open data from a public repository (for example via raw.githubusercontent.com) to show fares on device. No account is required.
• Weather: The home-screen widget may request weather from Hong Kong Observatory–related services for display alongside arrivals.

Accounts and advertising

The app does not require an account. Based on the current product, it does not use ads or third-party advertising identifiers (for example AdMob).

Retention and sharing

Favourites and settings remain on your device until you delete the app or clear its data. We do not sell your personal information. Requests to bus or government open-data services are subject to those providers’ own terms and policies.

Your choices

You can revoke location permission in system Settings at any time; nearby features will then stop working. You can delete the app to remove local data.
